As a Church we are committed to our community.
We love our city and we love the people in it.
Love the homeless: Every Saturday morning at Methodist Central Hall 10:00am - 12:00pm
This is a growing ministry. Beginning with half a dozen homeless people which we had to go out and look for, we now have up to 50 people coming through our doors on a Saturday morning. We find it a sad reflection of life today that so many seem to be in such desperate need - not just for a hot meal, but for someone to share a smile, have a chat and simply recognise them as human beings, not as human rejects. show more ↓
We run an open door principle, offering a hot breakfast to any in need – the only condition is that any dealing in drugs and alcohol is not acceptable, neither is any degree of violence, although to date these things have not been an issue. Breakfast usually consists of endless cups of tea or coffee, with eggs and beans on toast and occasionally sausages (or whatever else has been kindly donated). We partner with HARP, the Hull Homeless and Rootless Project, and are visited regularly by organisations who support our ministry.
If you feel you would like to help, and have an hour or two to spare on a Saturday morning, even if only occasionally, please email City Life.
We also need clothing - especially boots, socks, t-shirts and warm clothing. Please try to image life without a roof or walls, in all manner of weather conditions and plunging temperatures. If you have anything you think may be of use then please contact us – we can advise on what is appropriate and we are grateful for your kindness. We can arrange collection if necessary.
If you would like to give financially to this ministry, please address your payment to City Life Church and mark on the envelope or note – 'Homeless'. show less ↑
City Life Project is a subsidiary of City Life Church Hull. The Project aims to help the homeless and disadvantaged of the city. We have a wide ranging vision, but our principle goal is to break cycles of despair and poor circumstance thereby helping individuals to achieve their full potential.
